For the fourth time in a row, Starians have responded to the Siqni survey by The Significant Company. We are proud to announce that Staria has been certified as a Future Workplace for the third time! Additionally, the response rate this year was 90%, which is exceptionally good!

The Siqni survey measures employee experience by assessing how well the meaningful factors for employees realize in the workplace. Future Workplaces certification is earned by employers having the company culture in the core of their leadership. This is shown as an excellent employee experience and exceptionally high Siqni survey scores.

When answering the Siqni survey, each Starian chose the five most meaningful topics for them at work. The top 10 list below shows the most meaningful factors for Starians this year:

  2. Work life balance
  3. Fair salary and perks
  4. Fair and competent immediate supervisor
  5. Meaningful work assignments
  6. Development opportunities which match my own interests
  7. Opportunities for career development
  8. Job security
  9. Professional colleagues
  10. Strong camaraderie at the workplace

As seen from the list, "freedom to work regardless of time or place" claimed the #1 spot. In terms of how well Starians thought this factor is realized in the workplace, the results came out at 92 out of 100. While there will always be variety in a company of Staria's size due to different expectations and individual experiences, this number indicates that the majority of Starians feel that this factor is well-realized at Staria.

Starians also value factors such as work life balance, fair and competent leadership, development opportunities in one's career and professional colleagues. These factors are consistent with previous years, and while many new Starians have joined during 2023, the same factors continue to be meaningful for Starians (read about Staria's Future Workplaces certification 2022 here).

"Great team spirit starts from a great team lead"

As revealed in the survey, having a fair and competent immediate supervisor is one of the most important factors for the employee experience. Starians appreciate a leader that promotes clarity and openness in communication, clearly states expectations, and enables growth and development while providing support in the current role. Trust is an important aspect, and Starians appreciate an approachable leader to whom they can openly present new ideas or raise concerns.

Investing in leadership shows good results

The leaders' role in setting the stage for a meaningful employee experience is crucial, but it's not an easy job. In the Siqni survey, Starians gave one of the highest scores for their immediate supervisor being "fair and competent".

During 2023-2024, Staria is investing in developing leadership through collaboration with reputable Aalto Executive Education and their leadership growth program. Through their program, we ensure that leaders at Staria have the tools, knowledge, and skills to lead and provide their teams with a high quality employee experience which is aligned with Staria's strategy.

Growth is achieved together

Today, Staria consists of 550+ professionals in 7 countries (and 19 offices!). During 2023, we welcomed almost 200 new colleagues into the Staria family. The turnover estimate for 2023 is 44.5 million euros and with an annual growth rate of 20-30% in recent years, we expect to keep high grow rates in the future as well.
